GEUS-COMPASS: Shaping the Future of Early Cancer Detection

GEUS-COMPASS is a €2.2 million project that brings together cutting-edge genomics, epigenomics, and artificial intelligence to transform how we detect cancer before symptoms appear.

Funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities through the State Research Agency (AEI) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), the project will develop a multimodal diagnostic test capable of identifying early molecular signs of colorectal, lung, and breast cancer in a single workflow.

The consortium, led by Aniling together with the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), combines the agility of a biotech startup with the scientific strength of two leading biomedical institutions.

Using the extensive GCAT cohort (Genomes for Life) as its foundation, GEUS-COMPASS will integrate genetic, epigenetic, proteomic, microbiome, and clinical data to build predictive algorithms for early cancer risk.

For Aniling, this project is more than a research initiative. It is a strategic leap towards a new generation of accessible, integrated diagnostics. By scaling our proprietary GEUS technology, we aim to bridge the gap between advanced sequencing and everyday clinical decision-making, paving the way for earlier detection and more effective prevention worldwide.

Consortium partners gathered at IGTP for the official kick-off meeting of the GEUS-COMPASS project.
