Yesterday, Aniling had the great opportunity to attend to the 1st Jornada de Genòmica Clínica i Medicina Personalitzada de la Regió Sanitària Girona organized by Hospital Universitari de Girona Dr. Josep Trueta – Atenció Primària ICS Girona
Ester Cuenca enjoyed really interesting debates about personalized medicine, including Míriam Mendez talking about data protection, Núria Terribas raised awareness of the rights of patients when genomically tested. We were also excited to hear about CGI-Clinics project and IMPaCT. Furthermore the audience has been delighted by Angel Maria Carracedo genetics overview in clinical practice.
The conference highlighted an important issue: Spain is the only European country without a specialized field of clinical genetics, despite other countries like Germany and France having established it back in the 1940s. This emphasizes the need for Spain to create the specialty of clinical genetics and align with European advancements in this field.
Congratulations Francesc Xavier Queralt i Moles, Gloria Padura and the other organisers.
Great coverage on Twitter with the hashtag #GenòmicaGirona
